Hollywood, Calif. - Select United Nation diplomats who were involved in supporting a documentary film about conserving the rainforest have pulled their support with no plausible reason.

The new Co-Production between non-profit Disaster Relief, Inc. and sister companies Live Video, Inc. [California - Michigan]; has taken an unexpected turn thanks to the United Nations [UN] on the new film Meratus Rainforest Should Not Die! (working title) The  Meratus Rainforest film is an original documentary discussing the deforestation of the rainforest and its effect on the global community, as well as the hundreds of species that call the rainforest home. Its purpose is to educate the global public of the dangerous situation of our environmental state and not only to create call for action, but to raise funds via the film’s release to assist in rebuilding and conserving natural resources around the globe.
According to inside sources, select UN diplomats started their preliminary participation on September 4, 2015, only nine days before they mysteriously pulled their entire support of the project. Their withdrawal has caused substantial setbacks for the film as UN support would allow for a larger global reach with as less global market restrictions. More concerning, however, is the reason for the withdrawal.

“We are concerned about the cause of the UN change of heart and the ramifications this lack of support could cause for rain forest preservation across the world. Not only is this withdrawal a contradiction to the UN’s stated charter, but it speaks to a larger apathy toward our dwindling natural resources,” says a film spokesperson. A portion of the films proceeds will benefit the reforestation of Rain Forests.
UN diplomats had asked filmmaker’s to accelerate the documentary’s release of new and original footage to coincide with the Paris Summit at the end of November and had initially lent their time and video footage explaining their perspective on deforestation, global warming, and the extinction of species as a result of human activity. Despite the timeframe being dramatically altered to meet their daunting requests, the UN abruptly abandoned the project with no plausible reason given. The film’s supporters are left to wonder what forces are at play that wish to halt or delay this film’s impending release.
The UN has been active in the recent years in the search for solutions to the growing concern over global warming, climate change, and other environmental issues. Past conferences have resulted in the creation of the Durban Platform [ADP] and the Kyoto Protocol as well as other steps toward lessening greenhouse gas emissions on a global scale.  There is a scheduled summit in Paris from November 30-December 11, 2015 to discuss these elevated issues and “achieve a new international agreement on the climate, applicable to all countries, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C.”
The UN hosted a closing event for an exhibition, “My Planet from Space: Beauty and Fragility,” on September 8th, 2015.
“Through spectacular satellite imagery and videos, the exhibition demonstrates the fragility of our planet and the challenges posed by climate change. Satellites… provide images of an ever-changing Earth: glaciers melting, sea levels rising, rainforests threatened by deforestation, growing desertification affecting croplands and uncontrolled urban sprawl…
…As the United Nations General Assembly works to finalize sustainable development goals for the post-2015 development agenda, the global community will require effective, enhanced and innovative tools to support their implementation.”
